Our Wood Floors from ADM Flooring

It took me way longer than I thought it would to choose the wood for the floors in our new house, but after careful consideration I made a decision! I went with engineered hardwood from ADM Flooring over LVP (use my code Frillsanddrills for a 5% discount on any flooring from ADM).

Each type of wood has its positives and negatives (think durability and feel), so this is a completely personal decision. There isn’t a wrong choice or a wrong floor type – it’s just what works best for you, your lifestyle, and your budget. I’ve personally always wanted wood floors and feel like nothing else compares!

We used a local company to install our wood floors who did a great job. This was not a DIY project I was willing to take on due to the scope and difficulty of what the job entailed! The blue tape holds the wood while it’s worked on and then they removed it. It doesn’t remove any of the UV laquer protective finish, which could void the floor warranty.

To ensure the wood is nice and straight throughout, the installation started with the longest run in the house! The glue used has a moisture barrier which is super important when installing wooden floors in a new home. Without a moisture barrier, the glue may not adhere properly to the wood, leading to gaps, warping, or other issues in the flooring. The moisture barrier helps to protect the wood from moisture, ensuring a more stable and durable installation.
