Our New House is Done! – The BEFORE
I finally took a minute to sit down for the first time since we moved in on Saturday. I have been NON STOP which I’m sure isn’t a surprise ;). I have only 9 weeks left until baby comes so I’m trying to be as productive as possible before then! My body is begging me to sit down, take a break, and relax, so here I am. And we JUST got internet service an hour ago so I figured what better time to share this post and all the pictures of our new house. I’m typing this post with the biggest smile on my face, as I honestly feel like I’m living a dream. This house is everything I could have ever imagined and more. I am so thankful and so excited to share this new journey with you all.
I am calling these pictures the BEFORE’s because I have SO MANY BIG PLANS for this house. I took most of them the day before we closed during my final walk through. I wish I had taken a few more because it will never be this empty again! I can’t even begin to list all of the changes we have already completed in just 5 short days of being here. To be honest, the house already looks 100% different and I absolutely can’t wait to share some of the “afters” with you shortly! I also want to get a post together explaining what things I paid to the builder to do, versus what things I chose to leave off and do myself post closing. I have SO SO much to share and need to find the time to blog it all for you guys 🙂
Here is the only shot of the front exterior I could find, which is obviously before the sod went in. Probably about a week before we closed I took this. But it’s the best I could do for now since I can’t wait till tomorrow to take another one 😉 We have a big pie shape lot, small in the front and HUGE in the back. I share some of the backyard later in this post which is one of our absolute favorite parts about this house!
This is the dining room as soon as you walk in the front door to your left. The chandelier is off center because I actually had the builder install 2 outlets for 2 chandeliers but they would only give me one “free” one. Let’s just say I already have 2 new light fixtures up in this room 😉
This is me standing in the dining room looking across at the foyer and into my husbands office. There are double glass french doors leading to his office.
Here you can see the front door on the left side of the picture. You walk through an “extended foyer” and then open up into the grand room which contains the main family/living area, the breakfast nook, and the kitchen.
Here is the breakfast nook with a hallway to bedrooms and bathrooms on either side.
Here is the back “pool” bath.
This is Aiden’s bedroom (the nursery) hence the sconce light fixtures on the crib wall. His room will look identical to his old nursery (seen here) and will eventually also be the new baby’s nursery.
Aiden will move into this bedroom as a “big boy room” once the new little man takes over the nursery.
Looking from Aiden’s hallway towards the grand room at the TV wall.
This is the guest bath/boy’s bathroom.
This is the laundry room across the hall from the previous bathroom and the door leads to the garage.
The double doors there lead into the master bedroom.
I realized I never got a good picture of the sliding doors during my final walk through, so I found this old one I took before the house was done to give you an idea of the layout.
Here is the view from the grand room sliding doors onto the back patio and backyard. It’s so huge and beautiful. Aiden can’t wait to run around 🙂
He already loves it!
Here is the master bedroom. I couldn’t even fit it all in one picture, as there is actually another window on the far right side. It’s honestly a much bigger bedroom than I could ever need or want, but that’s how the floor plan came so I’m sure I’ll find something to fill it with!
On the right side of the vanity you can see the double door entrance I mentioned before into the master bedroom. You go left to go the actual bedroom and then right to get to the bathroom. The 2 walk in closets are in between.
A free standing tub was one of my “must haves” for a new house. I am absolutely head over heels in love.
And that’s it for now friends! Comment and let me know your thoughts, and I hope to be back soon to share some of the updates we’ve already done! I am so excited!!
One thing I love is something that is noticeably absent…builder mirrors in your bathrooms. I can’t wait to see what you have planned.
