DIY Stylish Bedroom Work Space

With so many people working from home these days, having a place to sit and focus is necessary. I recently got rid of the need for my dresser and decided to turn this wall in our master bedroom into my dedicated miniature office. Here’s the BEFORE:

Work Space Desk

The first thing I did was build a desk for this space. Sure, I could have purchased one, but where’s the fun in that? I love a good challenge and when I saw this desk in a magazine recently, I knew I had to attempt it.

Here’s how the desk turned out! I shared the process of building it on my instagram stories and saved the details to my highlights!

I painted it a blue/gray that matches several other features in my home and plan to use this piece as a starting point for a future master bedroom makeover! And if you know me, you know I had to add gold details somehow!

I found a beautiful piece of art (linked here) that matches my vision for my new bedroom and work space beautifully. It ties in the color of the desk, and brings in other blues and golds! I used the new 3M™ CLAW Heavyweight Hanging Solution to hang it and it was a breeze! Let me show you the process.

It comes with a 3M™ CLAW Drywall Picture Hanger and Spot Marker. The Spot Marker is placed on the hanging hardware for the artwork (in my case D rings) and then you press the art against the wall where it will be hung and the stickers will stay in place, giving you a mark of where to place the 3M™ CLAW Drywall Picture Hanger. For this project, I used the 15lb weight limit but the 3M™ CLAW Drywall Picture Hanger is also available in 25lb and 45lb varieties for heavier home decor items.

Mark a dot from the Spot Marker and from there you simply press the 3M™ CLAW Drywall Picture Hanger firmly into the drywall using your thumbs. That’s it! No tools, no anchors, and no studs! The best part is the 3M™ CLAW Drywall Picture Hanger puts a tiny hole in the wall compared to the large holes left behind by drywall anchors. Here’s a close up of the product. The D ring hangs right over the middle tooth.
